  1. Installing the “ALL IN ONE WP MIGRATION” WP Plugin
  2. Creating and Downloading a successful backup of your Website
  3. Installing the same “ALL IN ONE WP MIGRATION” Plugin on the new site
  4. Uploading and Importing the downloaded backup of the old site
  5. Final Touch & Customizations

We will be starting the Step-By-Step process on How To Migrate WordPress Website to New Domain.

Step #1: Installing ALL IN ONE WP MIGRATION Plugin

For migrating your WordPress Website without losing SEO, you need to first log in to your WordPress Website Dashboard.

We will be installing a WordPress Plugin, which will help us easily migrate our site. Hover all plugins and Click Add New. If you are facing any difficulties installing plugins, you must check out this Article

After successfully installing the All In One WP Migration Plugin, you will need to create a complete backup of your Website, including all the posts, pages, files, images, databases, etc.

Step #2: Creating a Backup of our WordPress Website

Now, you will see a different option in your WordPress Dashboard Menu called “ALL IN ONE WP MIGRATION.”

Hover over the Option and Click “EXPORT.” We will be exporting the Website and then importing it to the New Domain. After you click “Export”, click on “EXPORT TO” and see an extensive dropdown menu with various options that you can choose to export your website.

My best recommendation is to Export a Website to a File. So, choose the File Option. The plugin will take some time to scan your complete Website and create a file copy of your WordPress website. But, it will only take 1-2 minutes.

After the plugin has finished scanning your complete Website, you will see a popup DOWNLOAD Button. You need to click on the Download Button, and the Website’s backup is downloaded to your computer.

We have accomplished the initial 2 steps of our Blog Post on How To Migrate a WordPress Website To a New Domain.

Now, let’s move forward to the 3rd Step!

Step #3: Installing “AIOWPM” Plugin on New Site

We will need to move the file from the old domain name to the new domain name. But, first, you need to make sure that the file is completely downloaded on your device.

Sometimes, if your Website is vast, containing many pages, posts, and files, it may take up to 10-15 minutes. However, if you are tiny and have fewer plugins and blog posts, it will take only a few seconds to finish downloading.

So, log in to your New Website’s WordPress Dashboard. After Logging in, we will replicate the same process we did for the old website.

Hover over Plugins >> Add New and then search for the same plugin – “ALL IN ONE WP MIGRATION.” After you get the plugin, Install and then Activate the plugin. Once the plugin is activated, you are now ready to import all of your website data from the old one to the new one.

Step #4: Importing the Backup

It’s the last step of our Blog Post on Migrating the WordPress Website To a New Domain. In this Step, we will be importing the Backup which we downloaded, and that’s all!

After you Installed and Activated the “ALL IN ONE WP MIGRATION”, you will again see an option in the WordPress Menu named All In One WP Migration.

Simply hover over it and click Import. We will be clicking import as we import the data front the old Website to the new one.

After you click on “IMPORT”, you will see an option called “IMPORT FROM.” Click on the option, and you will see many options that this plugin allows you to import.

As we have downloaded all the website data in the file format, we will select “FILE.”

This plugin will now automatically load your File Manager. First, you will have to select your Website backup up file. Then, click on Open, and your Importing and Uploading process will start immediately.

Final Touch & Important Settings

In my opinion, the importing process only takes 30-40 seconds. But as I said, if your Website is huge, it might take some while. After your import process finishes, you will get a notice:

Notice: The importing process will overwrite your Website, including databases, files, themes, plugins, and media. Please ensure that you keep a backup of your data before proceeding to the next step.

It simply means that the plugin says that this import will overwrite your new website, and everything, including media, plugins, files, and pages, will be imported.

That’s Completely OK! Just click on “Proceed.” Now, the plugin knows that it has to import all the files of your old website to the new site.

The final importing will be done in a few seconds and after your website is successfully imported, you will get a Congratulations message. Click on Finish.

CONGRATULATIONS! You have migrated your old WordPress website to a New Domain Name. Your new Domain will have all the features of your old domain.

After your site is migrated, look that everything is working fine. Also, do check your permalink’s structure.
